What is the Brevet?
The Brevet is a Certification issued by FUAM on behalf of CMAS on CMAS Plastic Card confirming holder is certified up to the specified CMAS qualification.
Brevet Qualification Categories and validity as per following:
- One, Two and Three Star Air Divers valid for 10 years from date issue.
- Basic and Advanced Nitrox Diver valid for 10 years from date of issue
- One, Two and Three Star Instructors and Instructor Specialities valid for 5 years from date issue.
- Normoxic and Advanced Trimix Diver valid for 10 years from date of issue.
Certification is done by certified CMAS Diving Instructors and counter stamped by Dive School or Club which are affiliated with FUAM.
Renewal of PIC Process / Change from old Diving Passport to Plastic Card
- Brevet Renewal Form needs to be filled by the Diver to make sure all personal data is current. Kindly visit our privacy notice here.
- Old Brevet/Passport copy needs to be provided
- A Self Assessment Medical Form needs to be provided.
If in the Self-Assessment Form the diver marks as “Yes” any of the conditions, the First Page of the Medical form must to be completed at least by a Medical Physician to confirm suitability for diving of the applicant. This is for your own safety, so please be honest with the answers. We suggest that you are checked by a Doctor specialised in Diving Medicine rather than a General Practitioner.
(Divers applying for an Instructors Card Renewal MUST to produce a current Hyperbaric Doctor Certificate instead of a Self-Assessment Form.) - 1 Passport sized photo (Printed or 300dpi Digital) to be provided.
- Card Processing Fee + Postage fee via Bank Transfer. No postage fee is required if you collect it in person from a Club affiliated with FUAM.

Applying for New Brevet Process
- The Applicant Diver is to fill personal data in the PIC Application Form for the Certification being applied for. Kindly visit our privacy notice here.
- Application needs to be signed by the CMAS instructor who instructed the diver and rubber stamped by the Diving School or club which is qualifying the diver.
- A Self Assessment Medical Form needs to be provided.
If in the Self-Assessment Form the diver marks as “Yes” any of the conditions, the Medical form must be completed at least by a Medical Physician to confirm suitability for diving of the applicant.
